If I just got my license, it hasn't been a year, can I drive people 18 and up? Or can I only legally drive 21 and up? If you're under 18, you can only drive people 21 and over. Except if your passengers have a signed paper written by their parents allowing you and stating that you're driving them from point A to point B or vice versa. Auto parts : Brake Fitting Acura 1995 . Crankshaft / camshaft position sensor? Hello, I have a 1999 Corolla that acts like it has a rev-limiter after the engine is up to temp and I try to accelerate hard like to pass another car. When it is cool and has not reached temp yet(temp gauge is still low)the problem doesn't happen. I can accelerate and pass like it should. When engine is up to temp I can cruise all day long at 65-70 mph but if I put my foot down to accelerate the engine misfires. I have put new plugs, wires, coils, temp sensor, ECM. The fuel filter is not plugged. As I said, the engine is flawless until it begins to warm up...then it will begin to misfire at a certain RPM everytime. Very predictable. It will not misfire in drive with my foot on the brake and other on the gas stalling the converter because it has not reached that certain RPM. It feels like about 3000 to 3500 rpm where the misfire begins and the engine WILL NOT rev beyond that RPM....just like a rev limiter. HELP ME car insurance. Auto parts : Brake Pad Set Dodge 2005. Audi . Pros & Cons of a Lightened FlywheelLightening the flywheel in your vehicle will have an affect on the engine performance. The flywheel helps determine how fast your engine will speed up and slow down; lightening it can have both positive and negative for vehicle performance. Lightened Flywheel Pros The main reasons for lightening a flywheel are to gain horsepower and have the ability to adjust between speeds quickly. It will also allow the driver to maintain speed on highways without adjusting pressure to the gas pedal as much as they would have to if a heavier flywheel is used. Lightened Flywheel Cons One downside of having a lighter flywheel reveals itself when a driver goes uphill. The car will lose its momentum quicker going uphill unless the driver is prepared and uses his gears to downshift in time and uses more gas. Another con is using too light of a flywheel. If a flywheel is too light, a car will lose engine performance. Considerations You should not just drill random holes in the flywheel to lighten it. It may throw the engine off balance. There are professionals who can lighten flywheels. Lightened flywheels are also manufactured and will only need installation.
Audi . How to Read a VIN Number on a 2001 PrizmThe Geo Prizm was a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota. The rebadged version of the Toyota Corolla was manufactured between 1989 and 2002 and replaced the Chevrolet Nova. The vehicle identification number or VIN has been in a standard 17-character format since the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration established a mandate in 1980. This number can give you some interesting information about your Geo Prizm. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Step by Step : 1 Locate the VIN number on the driver's side of the dash panel next to the window molding. The VIN can also be found on the title. 2 Interpret the first character to find the country where the car was manufactured. The 2001 Geo Prizm was manufactured in the United States, so it will be 1. 3 Interpret the second and third characters to find the manufacturer and division. The letter Y is for General Motors and 1 is for Geo. 4 Interpret the fourth and fifth characters for the series. SK is used for the Prizm, SL for the Prizm GSi. 5 Interpret the sixth character for the body type. The number 5 is for a four-door sedan, 6 for a four-door hatchback, and 7 for a four-door lift back. 6 Interpret the seventh character for the restraint system. The number 1 is for manual belts, 2 for manual belts with a built-in safety system, 3 for manual belts on the driver's side with a built-in safety system, and 4 for automatic belts. 7 Interpret the eighth character to find the engine code. The numbers 5 and 6 are used for 1.6-liter engines, and 8 for 1.8-liter engines. The ninth character is a check digit for VIN legitimacy. 8 Interpret the 10th character to find the model year. The number 1 is for a 2001 model. Other standard format years since then are 2 for 2002, 3 for 2003, 4 for 2004, 5 for 2005, 6 for 2006, 7 for 2007, 8 for 2008 and 9 for 2009. 9 Interpret the 11th digit for the plant location. All Prizms were built in the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. plant located in Fremont, Calif. The code for this plant is Z, included in all Geo Prizm VIN's. Step by Step : 10 Note the remaining six characters. These numbers represent the serial number and build sequence of the vehicle. *words until you've looked into the engine of a vehicle that has not had its oil changed often enough. Masses of black slimy stuff, hunks of undefinable vile ness, and pebble-like particles cling to everything. It's hard to see how these engines function at all. Even more depressing are the all-too-visible signs of wear on steel parts that have been eroded away by this ugly stuff. If your car hasn't had its oil changed in at least 6,000 miles, you can consider the growls coming out of its engine to be cries of pain! Oil cuts down on friction By far the most important thing that the oil in your engine does is to form a cushion between moving parts to help them slide past one another easily. 735

Chapter 15: Changing Your Oil Figure 15-2 shows you how oil cuts down on friction. As you can see, each piston is attached to a connecting rod. Each connecting rod has a hole in it with a bearing that the crankshaft fits through. This makes the crankshaft and the connecting rod operate together. Now take a closer look at that hole in the enlarged portion of the figure. Notice that there's a space around the hole that's always filled with oil. When the engine is running, the oil pressure forms Audi . Where do you drive to put a car on the Sunlander?
Chrysler 300. * a cushion that keeps the connecting rod bearings from ever touching the crankshaft. Instead, each moves on its cushion of oil to prevent friction and wear, which is important because the rod exerts 4,000 pounds of pressure every time it moves down. This arrangement has additional benefits: If the bearings wear, they can be replaced for much less money than it would cost to replace the connecting rod or the crankshaft. This same principle applies to other moving parts in your car. OH retards corrosion Oil also retards corrosion in your engine by enveloping the particles of water and acid that are present. These particles, plus the solid particles that the oil holds in suspension, turn oil black and thin it out. You ipust change the oil regularly to get rid of this stuff before it can build up to the point where the oil can't do its job properly.
